The Pricing Club

While the study of prices is a foundational aspect of economic analysis, many CABE members and individuals across Chicago-area corporations and consultancies also use economics in their analysis of pricing.

They use economic tools to find the "correct" price, to estimate how buyers will react to price changes, even to forecast price trends.  Specialists such as Transfer Pricing professionals use economics to price transactions across increasingly decentralized multinational corporations.  Analysts across network industries use "engineering economic analysis" to establish pricing across complex, often ad hoc, services.  Pricing specialists across industries ranging from the airlines to insurance to e-commerce use economic tools to optimize large, often dynamic, price sets.  Pricing consultants are deeply steeped in microeconomics.

The Pricing Club is an effort to bring these pricing professionals together around their common usage of economic and quantitative analysis to better understand how to price products and services.
